It’s surprising to see how someone like Mr. Yulo, who got 11 million pesos before even winning two gold medals in the Olympics, didn’t prioritize helping his family out of the slums. How about now with 100 million pesos? It’s concerning that he hasn’t visited his family since 2022 and is living comfortably in a Manila condominium. His reaction to his mother spending 170, 000 pesos of his incentives on renovating their other house so he could have a comfortable place to relax speaks volumes about his character. This is not the kind of example that should be set for the youth—especially when it comes to valuing family and showing gratitude. Remember, wealth means nothing if it comes at the expense of your loved ones—because in the end, you can’t take it with you.
