also make sure the wood your using in completely dry, else your efforts may be wasted; when the wood dries out it could split, and may not be so firmly held in place.

for this, you don't have to have a whole workshop - just some basic tools like a drill, maybe a file, sandpaper, a knife for calving/whittling, a hammer, a saw and - if your not using a glue/resin - you can hammer a small screw nut (bolt) on the end of the tang...
Poly varnish gives a nice finish.

Its for the sake of making the video short and simple, people have what they need to get started and know what to search to find the details. besides I had a modem when i uploaded this and i took like 3 hours to upload this 2 min vid.

I noticed there was a bit of the tang hanging out the end of the handle, assuming it is soft enough, why not pin it down?

Cut the block down before drilling the hole, make a slightly larger hole aswell. Making the hole larger will take away the need for the stump, if its still to tight then use a vise and your blade wont bend. Also itll make it so you can test fit the handle and remove it to do sanding, this will keep the blade from getting scratched.

I think it would be even easier with that one full-tang helle blank.

well one use a thick rag or cloth around the blade so you dont scratch it but otherwise video

I heard he's going to sell it online soon, so you might want to get Heyzmar's Woodworking Bible. Even though it's not 100% complete it has some solid plans.
