Msaki, born and raised in East London, South Africa, is a genre-defying artist known for her ethereal vocals, poignant songwriting, and innovative approach to music and art. Far from simply writing songs, Msaki describes her creative process as "catching songs," a reflection of her profound connection to inspiration and authenticity.

Her debut EP, *Nalithemba* (2013), introduced audiences to her unique sound, followed by her critically acclaimed LP *Zaneliza: How the Water Moves* (2016), which earned a South African Music Award (SAMA) nomination. With hits like "Imfama Ziyabona," which stayed on Metro Charts for 19 weeks, Msaki established herself as a powerful voice capable of articulating fears, dreams, and desires.

Msaki's collaborations have propelled her onto the global stage, particularly in South Africa's vibrant house music scene. She has worked with Black Coffee, Mobi Dixon, Prince Kaybee, and Black Motion, among others. Her collaboration with Prince Kaybee on *Fetch Your Life* became a cultural anthem, earning 3.1 billion impressions in 2019 and dominating South African radio. Other standout tracks include *Ubomi Abumanga* with Sun-EL Musician and *Sondela* with Tresor, both of which garnered widespread acclaim and multiple SAMA nominations.

Beyond her accolades, Msaki uses her artistry for activism and empowerment. Her songs like *At Stake* and *Blood Guns and Revolutions* address societal issues, including gender-based violence and systemic injustice, embodying her commitment to creating meaningful, impactful work. Despite her reluctance to label herself an activist, her music consistently resonates as a call for change.

Msaki is also a community builder and curator. Through her publishing company, Oneshushuday Publishing, she nurtures songwriting talent with workshops and collaborative events. She co-founded the Riversong Collaborative Arts Festival in Hamburg, Eastern Cape, and launched ALTBLK, a platform celebrating the diversity of African and diasporic music, blending heritage with future-forward sounds.

A visionary artist and cultural force, Msaki continues to redefine the boundaries of music and art while amplifying the voices and stories of her community.
