One tip I would give with painting is to get the primer tinted with the paint color you will be using. The paint store will do this at no cost, but you can also do it yourself.
Another option is to purchase white primer and gray primer and use the gray primer anywhere that will be painted a darker color.
Also, in a kitchen, bathroom, or any room with a lot of moisture, I always have them add a packet of the anti mold stuff when they mix my paint color. You can also add it yourself. It comes in a little packet similar to the packets they give you with mayonnaise, mustard, or ketchup.
I used to paint professionally, and these are a couple of easy tips that make a big difference.

I am blown away at your bathroom makeover! I can’t believe you did that all by yourself. It’s beautiful!❤

I used to paint professionally, and it was a very good choice to use a water-based primer to avoid yellowing. Often, people skip priming, but primer is so very important. It's cheaper than paint, and if you prime well, you won't need as many coats of paint.
I also completely agree that painting is the best investment. You get the most bang for your buck. There's nothing else that makes such a huge impact without a huge investment. When someone is on a really tight budget and painting is the only thing they can do, it is so worth it! The key is researching and following directions & recommendations. It's all about the prep.
This is a fantastic video, and your renovation is truly stunning. I am impressed and inspired!

You did such a good job. My husband and I did many renovations over the years but I was always the “helper. I could never have done the work you did.

I just found your video and WOW I’m blown away! If I lived 4:46 in Australia, I would volunteer to be your assistant just to learn from you. I’m a retired school teacher so now I have more time to do all the things that I’ve wanted to do on my own home. It’s 100 years old so it needs a little TLC. I hope that YouTube is paying you well because you deserve your own tv show! Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re an inspiration to a lot of people😊

I am impressed with your skills. We moved a lot so I always picked a house with good bones and ugly decor. My contribution was the sweat labor to increase the value when we moved. We averaged 5 years in one place. I could cut a strait line with paint like you do. This is a beautiful job. I just moved, hopefully for the last time, and my daughter had it done professionally. I am now 77 and had a bad fall so I was in the hospital and rehab for three months so I had a place to live close to her. I miss not being able to do it.

Such a great video, thanks Jade! Wanted to mention, there are often tool libraries in many places that you can borrow the tools you need instead of buying them all. :)

I really like the colors you chose, and the simple uplifts such as the half panel wall with built in shelf in the second bedroom, the laminate edge iron rolls in the kitchen etc. They’re such small things that really do make a huge difference in a home. I’m a renter, solo mum of a teen with extras and we have 5 pets. My landlord has been very understanding and has kindly kept my rent lower, which I really appreciate. But the flip side of that is the house hadn’t been freshly painted when we moved in 12 years ago, the kitchen, bathroom and laundry all have very old fitting with leaks and tiles coming loose every year or so and the 4 rooms with carpets have threads and has lost all the underlay to the point that nothing can put up close to the walls. My point is that not all tenants don’t keep their rentals as clean and well maintained as they possibly can 😢. I have recently asked if I can paint the whole house and be reimbursed costs from the londlord, we’re in the process of choosing some colors schemes that I home the landlord approves. I want to go water based white on walls/ceilings, darker enamel grey on all trims (currently all bare wood the finish has been stained so long ago) and I’m hoping for a deep emerald green as an accent to use strategically as features to update the look. I will replace all the hardware with a Matt black on door handles and light switches and gold for cupboard doors and drawer handles. I didn’t dream of asking if I can do any tiling, replacement of cupboards or fittings etc. But after watching your vid today I might actually ask now. If I get permission to do something small, show how competent I can be and how much positive change it makes, maybe I’ll be able to do more rooms as I can afford the upfront materials? Hopefully anyway…. But yeah, awesome job and very inspiring to know I can do some really high impact things on a much smaller budget than I had envisioned. Nice vid 😊

I really enjoyed how you broke this down. I do DIY videos but have struggled to put a whole video together at the end of the house. This was helpful in planning how to video my next renovation. Thank you!
