I am from iit m bs electronic and can say this course far better than the private btech course and we are given access to campus also on labs and fest so it's a good degree to take.

i am iit madras bs student and i will say truth to you
it is very very hard course i will give you a rough idea of todays iit madras student situation
10 thousand students give qualifier exams every year
out of that 4 thousand student selected
out of that 1500 students left it in first year
and those who left in iit madras 2, 500 student those dual degree left in 2nd year and only 800 students go for 3rd year bsc
and out of 800, those 500 leaves in 3rd year so only 300 students left and in these 300 those 250 left in 4th year
and only 50 students gets their BS degree

IIT Madras BS degree average package is 10 lpa and highest package domestic is 50 lpa which is offered by deloitte
so placement is very good
in 2024 GATE exam 20 students get under air 100 from iit madras bs degree

so first of all thinking its degrading iit brand value its just a missconception of students as its hardness only talented students like jee advance graduate only study till end and you should know many students are from Top NITs and IITs and some are from iit -b, r, k, d, m who not get cse .
