Even in death, this legend and Queen of the Divas is untouchable.
What impresses me most about this live version is her timbre, melisma which attained new higher levels( and love I guess!), the subtle and smooth yet distinct transitions between head and chest voice, clear and powerful tone, tremendous emotive ability, unbelievable range, immaculate control and amazing self confidence which has always been a hallmark of her performances ( unmatched in my opinion).
In addition, her lyrical phrasing is superior to any other singer. I just marvel at how she wraps her unique vocals around the short notes/verses.
Finally, this one of a kind singer possessed the perfect package and this explains why she does not have to attire herself of the box ( wearing ridiculously skimpy outfits in performance, like many others). All she required was a microphone, and unleash her God- given vocals in classey outfits( remember, she was an international model for many years), always stunningly beautiful both inside and outside. Let us remember the only reason we do not focus on her natural beauty, is because of her amazing instrument(God given vocals).
This song is vintage Whitney, demonstrating why she is many notches above the rest of singers, both current, past and future!
Kudos to Kygo for his outstanding producing skills in producing this masterpiece that will last forever!!
