That's a surprise for me as a local citizen to know that you, foreigners, like temples! There are many forest monasteries in the northeast of Thailand, one of which is Wat Pa Nana Chat, international monastery, in Ubon where many foreign buddhist monks live.

We have been to the reclining buddah, but would love to visit the The Golden Mount Temple for sure next time. Loved the outtakes, 🤣. Danny is right, navy men are only good in the sea 👍

In the past, during the reign of King Rama II, people died from cholera. The bodies could not be cremated in time. Therefore, many vultures came to eat the remains at Wat Saket.

In Thailand, there are three phrases:
the giant of Wat Arun,
the vulture of Wat Saket, and the ghost (Pret) of Wat Suthat.
(A Pret is a Thai ghost who is very tall, has big hands, and a small mouth.)

Personally, I would even recommend tourists visit Wat Ratchabophit (The royal temple of King Rama VII)

instead of Wat Phra Kaew (the Grand palace), because it's free, less crowded, and just as beautiful—perhaps even more so. Plus, it's not far from the Sanam Chai MRT station and is right across from the current entrance of Wat Phra Kaew. I'm not sure if you've been there yet, but I encourage you to check it out.

There are many reasons why Thai people forbid stepping on the beams that block the doors below. We call the wood that acts as a beam blocking the entrance to the church the Thorani of the door. 1. According to ancient beliefs, that point is where the gods who look after it reside, so we must respect it. 2. The reason is religious. It is a metaphor for moral teachings. Stepping over the Thorani of the door is like stepping over the world and the power of defilements when stepping into the church. It is a warning to control oneself from defilements. 3. The Thorani of the door supports the door frame so that it does not shake. If someone steps on it often, it may cause the wood to collapse, risking reptiles to enter. 4. It is a trick to always be mindful because the Thorani of some doors are not the same size, there is a chance of tripping and getting injured. 5. The Thorani of most doors is decorated with gold leaf or red lacquer to prevent damage. That is what I know a little.😊
