* Are you ready?
* If you are not, I understand.
* I am not ready either.

It's amazing how two chords can give me chills.

That one "Oh." after Asgore realizes who you are immediately hit me right in the feels.
He was not expecting to act on his choice of killing all humans so soon. :(

It's amazing how powerful such a tiny, looping morsel of audio can be when used well.

Toby is able to convey more emotion and sorrow in two notes than most people are able to convey in an entire album. Truly amazing.

It's a beautiful day outside.
Birds are singing, flowers are blooming...

Perfect weather for a game of catch.

The moment when you realize that what happens next could decide the entire ending of the game. You finally Made it to the moment you were waiting for the entire game.

And you hear

Just

Two

Chords.

"Just think of it like a trip to the dentist" I was just thinking about that quote. I know that's one of the last things he says to you before he fights you, to kill you. For me a trip to the dentist is something no one likes to do, but you have to go, just like how most people don't want to die, but they will eventually.
I was wondering if I was thinking too deep into this but this is Undertale we're taking about

You know, I am kind of sad Asgore didn't get to be the last fight of the neutral route. Omega Flowey was cool and all but the build up to fighting Asgore was the emotional peak of the neutral route for me. It's Gwyn Lord of Cinder levels of sadness to me, their two of my favorite boss fights in gaming because of the different emotions they bring up in comparison to most boss fights.

“Just pretend it’s…a trip to the dentist.”
That line still just sticks with me

This little track. This tiny little track cracked right through to my core the first time i played through the game. I was already sobbing by the time i reached Asgore, here i started openly crying.

It's amazing how two notes can bring forth such emotion. I'm right back in that throne room, with Asgore pacing to and forth, awkwardly, trying to make small talk and delay the inevitable.

Crazy how this song resonates with so many people. I myself came to this song because its been playing in my head recently. I like to imagine that I run into an old friend or lover by chance at the supermarket or something and this song start playing when we both make eye contact. Its strangely evocative for such a simple tune.

I'm 100% convinced that this is the saddest theme and scene in the entire game, all runs, no contest. It's *devastating*.

This impacted so well and I can't believe it's frigging two notes repeated over and over again, I can't even-
HOW CAN YOU PUT SUCH EMOTION INTO TWO FRIGGING NOTES

Think about this track for a second, just think.

It's two chords, a person without a hair of musical knowledge could figure out how to play this. Yet its probably one of the most complex tracks in the game because of how much emotion it brings out, the scene where asgore meets the player character is memorable for many reasons but THIS track is one of the main reasons why it sticks with so many players like me. It's a real example of how sometimes in a game, movie, or any experience your trying to make, a simple track is often times more effective then a complex one.

I hope future game developers learn from the many things undertale has done correctly, this song included.
