kishimoto has an allergy to writing good women 😔 he sets up an amazing baseline and then does nothing else. of all characters, anko is one of the biggest robberies we ever got

Anko should have been the captain to go with them to get Orochimaru's spy on the bridge. Imagine the interactions, the fear Naruto has for her from her time as his proctor. The bonding over similar experiences, Anko coming to fully respect and teach him some moves (can you imagine Naruto adapting secret shadow snakes but for frogs. Imagine Gamakichi jumping out to slap someone lol) and Naruto saving Anko from Orochimaru

Anko could've been one of the people to fight Kabuto at some point... Or to have some kind of hand in Orochimaru's revival... Or even a sacrificial death in order to save another characters life... Something!!!!

Anko really could've been an excellent mentor-character for Naruto, even if only for a single arc.
They are both loudmouthed goobers who talk a lot of shit to hide their insecurities; they both lived in the shadow of a character who did some terrible shit and had to work ridiculously hard to form their own identity and crawl out from under that character's shadow.
Anko could've been an excellent role model early on to show Naruto that his efforts do mean something and that if he works hard enough, people will naturally gravitate to him regardless of his circumstances, and look to him for support and guidance.
I could even see her teaching him a thing or two. It doesn't really even need to be a lot, just having the two interact in a meaningful way outside of filler could've done a lot to further build on Naruto's development, while also giving a really cool character like Anko some much needed screentime.

Tbf this is why I don't like Naruto as much as others because it only cares about the main 2 or 4 if you count kakashi and Sakura

Anko was 100% right about Sasuke. And Kishimoto punished her for it. Being liked by Kishi is practically a death sentence for female characters in Naruto.

I’m guessing things just expanded with the main characters in the eye of the storm, so he kinda forgot about her briefly. By the time he realised, she was likely too irrelevant to be part of the main goings on.

Tsunade and Anko was my fav female characters from OG even maybe fav overall not just female.. She deserved way better

I feel jessie pinkman rn, my only thought is “HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!!!” Because kishimoto really turned one of THE baddest side characters with an intresting backstory and personality into a fat comic relief with no emotion, man first he ruined everyone’s cut than he “nerfs” all the girls like first tsunade than hinata and now anko

Sucks that Anko didn't get to be more. She seemed really cool, and honestly, she was the baddest chick in Naruto before Boruto happened.
