This is the discourse I can get behind. Everyone stated their points, used great arguments, and stood their ground respectively. Best wishes to all the sisters on the panel. I hope for the best to all my people of New York City. 🙏🏿

Ms. Kelley: Shouldn’t Eric Adams have the academic skills to get through a speech without insulting a huge swath of his constituents?

I am sorry but I disagree with the Panelist Kelley because just because you don't have a degree doesn't mean you're dumb. There a lot of workers in the restaurant field that are college students.

Do you really think we get power to help each other? Never in history has that proven true. We tear each other down and wonder why the fight is so hard for us.

Ugh! We have to be able to hold our own accountable. I don't really want to hear that, because he is black, black people should not say anything. BS! I don't live in NY, but I have heard from people who live in NY. They are very upset with his stance on stop and frisk. There are many missteps by Eric Adams.

Yes, a mistake was made. What he is guilty of is "over-talking". I think he speaks the truth, we all support each other. The lack of office workers in Manhattan has plenty of unemployed people sitting at home from the service industry. Now, his choice of words in explaining this was condescending. "Low skill workers" will only be accepted as a choice of words in a closed-door board meeting for "Walmart or Target". My point is, This is not something a mayor should be saying in a public speech... I think it comes from a "good place". Just apologize! and learn from it...

Check the school records of the people who work in low skill jobs! I’ll bet their school records correlate with their jobs in 70-90% of the cases.

Comment section is a perfect representation of the DIVIDE within the black community on how to move forward with anything...I would love an analysis on age, generation, sure I can guess where the numbers would fall....
