It’s interesting to see that in English the combination “ch” as in “channel” is usually harder, whereas the letter ч in Russian is always soft.

When I hear Russians pronounce “channel” in English, it sounds like Тщ to me, but we pronounce it closer to Тш.

Большое спасибо, Лина, за такой полезный урок! 🙌🏻 As a spanish native speaker, generally I dont find these sounds difficult 'per se', as we have similar sounds in Spanish. For example, the ш is very very similar to Argentinian pronunciation of "ll" or "y" (ya=ша, lluvia=шу́вя, llegada=шэга́да), but it is difficult sometimes to make a proper щ and not sound the same as ш in the middle of a word 😅 короче, нужно практиковаться) благодарю тебя! 🙏🏻

Thank you so much for this video. The letters that are almost impossible to distinguish are ш and щ. But actually the only one impossible to pronounce is the ы 🤭

I still can't hear the difference between ш & щ All the examples sounded like "sh" to me. I think it would have been more helpful if you deliberately mispronounced all the щ examples as ш so there would be a contrast. As I assume all learners would pronounce ш for everything both out loud and in their heads.
