Skeleton Bay Namibia. The worlds longest wave.

I filmed these waves on my iPhone while on a surf trip to Skeleton Bay in Namibia. The length and speed at which the wave travels along the sandbank is mesmerizing.

A real life version of the perfect waves we used to draw in our school books as kids, or like the animated ones from video games.

Nicknamed "The Donkey" for how it can kick you if you make a mistake. Many surfers have felt the brunt of being drilled stright into the shallow sandbank by the wave's thick lip.

The sets in this video are 4-6ft and super fast with a strong offshore South Westerly blowing, first part of the video filmed at round 2pm and then the last bit filmed at 8am the next morning before the sea mist lifted.
