It’s such a bummer that the general public’s willingness to save a species is tied to its cuteness. Panda’s are a great example of this

The Dusky Seaside Sparrow's story left me in tears. I can only imagine the devastating effects of human activities that caused so many species to go extinct

next up on all about nature: endlings…. the vaquita, javan rhino, sunda island tiger, amur leapord, yangtze finless porpoise, and many others… including honestly every population of amphibian that has or will ever encounter chytrid fungus. hopefully these stories of endlings will inspire people to try and help current endangered species (and not just the really famous ones like the ones i mentioned, but as many of them as possible!) no matter how hopeless things seem, these last individuals do matter… at least we know what NOT to do to save them!

The Carolina Parakeet and the Passenger Pigeon left me in tears. I can only imagine the devastating effects of human activities that caused two species that numbered in the billions to go down to 0 within a century. I just cannot imagine what would have happened to wildlife if conservation did not start seriously from 1980.

Great video and lessons. Incredibly depressing subject, but an important one.

This is basically just an hour long story of humans being awful.

The gliding frogs bummed me out the most. Like they were producing offspring and were that close to being saved but just didn’t.

I really appreciate the effort put into this compilation; it's beautifully done and captures such important stories. However, I can't help but wonder if focusing on these endling species might overshadow other conservation efforts that are also vital. What do you all think?

So sad on how we focus on one thing and miss what can happen to other things. We need to protect that what is endangered

14:40 - that tree frog 🐸 is unique. Not "truly unique" definitely never "very unique" - things either are or are not unique. Its baked into the definition.
Great channel - depressing topic but fascinating 😅
