fun fact: the necrons actually destroyed their most powerful weapons long before so if the celestial orrery was still considered safe enough to keep the demolished weapons are way beyond powerful

the best thing is that celestial orrery was approved by the silent king cuz it was not as destructive as the others weapon that were used in war in heaven cuz after the war in heaven silent king ordered destruction of all overkill weapons but left celestial orrery so you can only imagine what the destroyed weapons were capable of if making any star in the galaxy go supernova is allowed to exist

The Orrery being possibly the single most powerful weapon in 40k is considered tame and safe compared to other weapons destroyed for being deemed too dangerous after their use in the war in heaven. The Orrery is the last of these types of “weapons”, they were originally meant more as tools to trim and pluck the shape universe.

Best part is that after the war in heaven, the necron disposed of and destroyed many of their most powerful and devastating instruments of destruction sure to how they could irreparably damage the galaxy or even end it altogether.

The celestial orory is one of the devices that didn't make that list.
