This is why i love rapid. Sure, sometimes blitz can produce masterpieces like this too, but rapid hits that weird spot where players have enough time to think strategy while at the same time not enough to calculate everything which means you can go for riskier options. It's beautiful

The speed of white's development in this game was amazing. Arjun made it look easy.

White queen cut off the escape, then White's cavalry charge broke the centre disintegrating enemy forces like some medieval battle. Interesting game.

This was going to be a short video . Given the pawn was on D4 before agadmator started analysing and Medo nowhere in sight 🙂 . Congrats to Arjun for qualifying .

6:40 -- Four different Black men can capture the knight, but only KxN and RxN were examined. Let's see what happens with the other two options: 1) If BxN, then RxR, and if QxR (else free rook for White), then it's M9 starting with Qxe6. Black can prolong checkmate a few moves with g6 (and letting White have the rook). 2) If QxN, then Re3, g5, Qxh7, g4, Rd4 (double rook-lift!), and White will soon be up a piece.

Basics can get you far. Castle early. Connect rooms. Control the center.

At 3:04 I was severely disappointed cuz you didn't say "For those of you who realized that the b4 square is always the winning square..."

Arjun is just too good, also hes psychologically very sound even in positions he hasnt analyzed or seen before, as a player and as a streamer, i get how challenging that can be at times.

Agad you inspired me to start my youtube channel, you rekindled my love for chess and ever since the pandemic ive been watching your videos nonstop, a little support from you would mean the entire world to me. <3 :)

That Queenside castle move was just disgusting. To think one could castle into a position with such an open King against a grandmaster...

I have never seen a modern game with such perfectly placed rooks on an open d file and semi open e file with an uncastled king ....imagine being under attack by a grandmaster with all his pieces involved in the attack... never playing the London as black 😂

Man, your accent has become American in last 4 years and I live in NYC since 84, except for few of us, most Serbian and Croatian have noticeable accents! Good for you buddy!

I love the London system, and appreciate the respect you gave it in this video. Usually, your summary of the London has been along the lines of "should not pose a problem if black knows what he is doing".

Arjun Erigaisi (born 3 September 2003) is an Indian chess grandmaster from the state of Telangana. And yes, *Arjun is my cousin*

The title of this video would be the most metal name for a song.
