Heart-warming moment son surprises his generous mum with a new car

Ross Rothero-Bourge - now a successful sound engineer - always promised himself that when he could afford it, he would return the Ford StreetKa to his mum, Lynette Rothero. She had part-exchanged it to buy him a van when he was a touring musician - and needed a proper vehicle to lug around all his music kit. Just days after Ms Rothero, 63, rang him in tears saying she couldn't afford the MOT on her current car, Ross surprised her at her home in Redruth, Cornwall with the gleaming blue roadster this week - and she burst into tears when she saw it.
