Love the shorts theme for shortie September. I am not participating, but it looks fun. I just read The Secret of the Old Clock and the second book and compared them to the first two Hardy Boys. Nancy is definitely superior, in my opinion.

Island of the Blue Dolphins!!! I LOVE that book!!! That is such a good idea!!❤️😍❤️ Oh man I hope you like Wide Sargasso Sea. Ooh I also love Basil E Frankweiler when I was a kid - it made me think that if I ever ran away from home, I'd live in the museum 😅. This is a fab list!!

I remember reading Island of the Blue Dolphins when I was younger and crying my eyes out, so good luck with that; I don't remember anything about that book but the tears I shed lol

I loved Pippi Longstocking. Gift from the Sea is very good. A friend gave it to me for my birthday last year.
Edit: I have a big tbr for September already, but decided to pick two very short books.
I'll be reading The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros (1984) and Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton (Romance/Historical Fiction)

I used to LOVE the 1988 Pippi movie…watched part of it again as an adult and boy is it awful hahaha
