functions is always a difficult topic for me, I always used to leave it behind during my school exams but you made it so much easier to understand.

I was so happy today while solving questions from the books provided by Time.
I was able to do many of the questions.
Thank You Sir

nm – nC1(n-1)m + nC2(n-2)m – nC3(n-3)m+….- nCn-1 (1)m. Number of element in A is m and Number of element in B is n you can also use this formula if you can remember it

Already the topic is so dreaded, and it somehow also didn't get the peppy intro theme 😆
JK.. thankyou for making functions easy for us!

I have a doubt sir at 9:00. If you are considering exactly 2 wala situation by default it is not onto as we have left the third element in set B. So we should subtract all possible functions with exactly 2 wala condition and should not again subtract 2 from 2^4.

n(A) =4,
n(B)= 3, How many total functions are possible from A-B?
- n(B) power n(A)

we cannot find bijective function when range and domain is same, but in 2 question we find onto function even range and domain is not same ?

in onto functions questions, 3(2^5-2) here 2 indicates when they map a single image in codomain, why are we removing '2', as we have already removed them?

At 13:25 why all 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 not joined to R ? That is not the case ?
When n(B) =2 then also we subtract 2, but when n(B)=3 then also we are only subtracting 2 . Why ?

good evening sir,
I am not able to understand Q2.

At 7.11, I tried subtracting those cases logically, and I am getting 21 cases that would not be onto. =(all mapped to 1 * 3) + (3 * (when for eg P is mapped to 1 and Q, R, S are mapped to 2)*4) + ( 3 * ( when for eg P, Q mapped to 1 and R, S mapped to 2)*4)
= 81 - ( 3 +4*3 + 2*3) = 50

Sir, if the values were n(A)=5 and n(B)=4, would the equation formed be 4^5-(4+(2^5-2)×4)?
