When Telltale Games first released The Walking Dead series, both fans of the comics and TV show were ecstatic over the choose your own adventure format. Telltale Games became so popular after The Walking Dead, they started to create games for other beloved properties. Minecraft, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, all of which kept fans attention for a while, but the flame would soon start to go out. Telltale games had a fast and steep climb to success, but had an equally hard fall from grace as their games stopped innovating.

The end of that first game was just… cinematic. Few games had ever made me cry, and that was certainly one of them. Telltale Games: The Walking Dead will always have a place in my heart

The Wolf Among Us has some of the absolute COOLEST world building, and it came out when I was neck-deep in Grimdark Aesthetic, so it was right up my alley

Such a shame what happened to TellTale Games… many of my friends did not appreciate these games.

The Wolf Among Us is by far my favorite game they did, I'd argue it was on par with if not better than season 1 of TWD. (I know hot take) I loved the characters, gritty noir atmosphere and worldbuilding so much I went and binged the graphic novels, while I waited for a season 2 back when I thought TTG was still in peak shape.

When they went under I was sad that we would probably never get to see Bigby again but when they made their comeback and showcased the trailer for season 2 man it brought me back to those days when I first discovered TTG in highschool back in 2012.

Lee and clementine… absolutely love them and those games and was so static when the final one was out… it’s apart of my life and I wanna grow up to be just like Clem. Lee did well by me. And am still left with need for more of that level of epic character development, writing and love for a game.

Wow! The Walking Dead was a Telltale Games classic _ The journey of Clementine through the zombie apocalypse was well thought out and the point and click was spot on and so much fun to play _ The characters were well defined and fleshed out, and that made you care about them and the decisions you made about them as you drove the narrative as much as you were allowed _ I recall the ecitement of awaiting the next timely installment of each season _ I was sad that the studio ran into difficulties and was unable to continue for years to come _ It just so happened that Skybound/Kirkland was determined that fans of the epic were not left hanging and brought the series home properly _ Still one of my favorite games and a true classic

I ugly cried when playing tales from the borderlands - the intros for the episodes were SO well made and the one for episode 5 got me hard.

idgaf what y’all say but i cried at the end of each season and i never cry especially over games bro, but these people knew how to build a story a create an attachment towards the characters, i still remember last summer sitting in my chair at 4am with tears falling down my face as i was watching aj about to finish off clementine, beautiful games and anyone who hasn’t played them is truly missing out

The trick with Taletell games being criticized for the choices meaning less is simply the anchoring principle. Persona 5 has tons of meaningless choices, but because they didn't market it as such everyone loved it. Both games serve the same purpose, allowing choice to let the player inhabit the character, but Taletell marketed it as narrative changing choices. Adding meaningless choice, such as walking when everyone wants to run, help add an anchor in place for people to feel the impact of a choice over just always running. Running feels faster because walking is slow. Sometimes devs get overhyped on their own games.

I’m streaming my way through TWD & it’s nostalgia all over again. After all these years, I’m still entertained. Bummed TTG went under 😢

Their Game of Thrones game is very underrated, it has alot of emotional moments. I was always looking forward to a season 2 but that's very unlikely now

0:38 As a HUGE fan of S&M, I most certainly was aware of Telltale prior to The Walking Dead. Uh, that's "S&M" as in "Sam & Max", not bondage.

The Batman Enemy Within is easily the highest quality game Tell Tale has ever made in my opinion

Two things that I feel the first season really excelled at was character motivation and character canvas for the player. Lee is a character who claims innocence and has a personality with enough wiggle to allow the player to creat their own canon for that character to justify actions. I think that really brings depth to Lee's search for self forgiveness and acceptance as a Black man in Georgia with the inherent racism he encounters and being a techinally innocent man.
