Pratik Shrivastava: Raag Shuddha Kalyan

Pratik Shrivastava was the opening artiste on Day One of FEA's popular Parallel Lines festival in Bangalore. He began his recital with a wonderful rendition of Raag Shuddha Kalyan, a raag that is not performed frequently on the sarod.
Pratik was accompanied by the always sensitive Debjit Patitundi whose sangat perfectly complimented Pratik's style.

He has beautifully amalgamated the EQ of his legendary gharana with the unique dexterity of his guru.

Wah maza aa gaya. Mashallah. Algorithm threw me this. Excellent and particularly the aesthetic of Pratik's approach is beautiful, which is not always the case with even some very technically adept and more experienced ustads. The aesthetic, while remaining within a raag can be quite different. That is a crucial distinguishing factor and indeed something very personal from the artist. His or her signature or personality imprint, if you will.
