Zeiss Ikon Nettar with 35mm Film - Panoramic images!

My favorite way to shoot with the Zeiss Ikon Nettar is with 35mm film. This is an interesting and cheap way to make use of Zeiss Ikon Nettar folding camera. In this shoot, I use Kodak Portra film. Is this as good as a Hasselblad Xpan? -- definitely not. Is it a good time? -- for sure!

When you spool and tape 35mm film into 120 backpaper you can normally use the frame numbers of the backpaper... easy

Count the holes for a 9cm exposure, and put a little plastic to do a "click" when you advance the film. Count the clicks and you won't waste film!

What a creative approach! I have an agfa isolette folding camera, so your video is really inspiring new photo walk ideas. Would love to try this. The shots at 2:22 and 2:42 are great

can you see sprocket holes go by in the winding window on the back? I know the window's red but can you even open it with 35mm film in there without unintended exposure. just trying to figure out the best way to determine how much to wind between frames. Thanks. BTW, I love your channel. Your enthusiasm for film is contagious.

Love the video! Do you think if you open the back window (number reader) would ruin the film?

Cool idea for some panoramas. I’ve never seen anyone do that!

Hi, inspired to have a go at this after watching your video using my Zeiss Ikon Nettar. May I ask please, did you find out how many turns you need to make so as not to waste film? Thank you.

What's up my man? Love the work you're doing on your channel with analog. I actually ran a roll of 35 mm through my rolleicord and I love the way it came out also but I also ran into the same problem of super wide spaces between frames. I'm curious if putting a roll of paper on the spool first to make it a larger-diameter will help. I did a review of the lomography sprocket rocket on my channel about a year ago and honestly that single element plastic lens is a disappointment for serious sprocketphotography, this medium format setup is the best way to go. At the moment I'm working on a how to develop black and white film at home video but I want to make it the best one on YouTube so it's going to take awhile LOL

Can I transfer photos from the film to laptop or mobile phone?

Isn't this basically just a cropped part of the 6x9 medium format image? I mean ... the fun of experiment aside ... why not shoot "normal" medium format with it and later crop the scan to a panoramic image? Much less hassle and guessing ... or do I miss something?

hey man very appreciated !! i just digged out my nettar since i had these 3d printed extensions for the 35mm canister.
i was wondering how much to wind it up too, so i guess it's a luck thing. i will try winding with an exposed film to make notice..
Definetely will try it out !!! thx for the dope video ! cheers

Very cool!! I’ll have to try this with my folding camera’s. It’s even more of a pain in the ass to measure your distance manually. Lol I never leave the house without my tape measure/laser level (it’s also for my Ondu, to help aim).
