Trauma: The Next Pandemic?
September 14, 2021

COVID-19 has put the mental health of our nation at risk, but as we navigate the next phase of a global pandemic, new research and treatment discoveries offer guidance and hope for Canadians.

In this live virtual conversation, we explore the mental health impacts of COVID-19 on individuals, families, healthcare workers, and first responders. In particular, we discuss two growing concerns affecting people across the country: post-traumatic stress and moral injury.

Informed by the stories of people with lived and living experience, we share lessons learned, signs and symptoms, and resources that may benefit people experiencing pandemic-related trauma or moral injury. Finally, we discuss research underway aimed at helping some of the nation’s most at-risk populations and invite questions from the public about these growing mental health concerns.

This HRI Talks event was generously sponsored by: KPMG, CIBC, and Fusion Homes.
