This special CUNY presentation looks at how New Yorkers have survived the recession. Mike Gilliam anchors the show and goes one on one with economist Jeff Madrick, who gives us the facts and figures behind our economic downturn.

Later on in the show, Carol Anne Riddell gets up close and personal with her profile on the middle class crunch, while Andrew Falzon talks to small business owners and learns how the recession has impacted them.

Donna Hanover investigates what its like to be unemployed in this day and age and the show ends with an interview with Larry Hagberg who tells us what's its like to work as a blacksmith.
