One day, I went to a restaurant as a British person, but there was a waiter who was American. When I asked for tomato ketchup, the waiter did not understood what I said when I said "tomato", so one of the teammates translate the word to the American version; "tomayto". My brother says it like that all the time that it made me laugh. Keep up the good work, Chewkz! And "Bo'oh'o'wa'er" is always your catchphrase! 😂😂😂

Completely accurate, I went to America years ago and asked for butter to put on my toast. They literally had no idea what I was saying, so I had to say it in an American accent buterrrr and she was like oh yes of course 🤣

As a German, i'm glad i'm used to both accents, thanks to social media and different encounters with different English speakers. The japanese and ugandan accents are still my favorites though.

At the start, the waiter said that there was no more “T” so that’s probably why the British guy didn’t pronounce it.

American: Why don’t you just say the T’s man?
Indians: Don’t worry, we got that covered.

Lived in Australia for years now, but when I first arrived I had my thick French accent doubled up with the English accent we learn at school. People could not understand when I said butter and water. It was so frustrating!
