About John Baboian:
Guitarist, composer, and educator John Baboian has been on the faculty at Berklee College of Music in Boston since 1980. Although best known for his work in the jazz and swing idioms, John has performed in the classical, blues, rock, R&B, Latin, and world music genres, and he has been a featured performer on more than 20 recordings in a variety of musical styles, including performances with the Boston Big Band, the World Leaders, the Black Sea Salsa band, and more. His compositions and arrangements have been heard on television shows Walker, Texas Ranger, UPN’s Seven Days, ABC’s All My Children, HBO’s The Sopranos, and others.

John is the absolute best teacher and his calm demeanor might mislead you into thinking he isn't a world class performer, but the man is fantastic and can play like no other. He is incredibly kind and disarmingly proficient - he can do it all. If you are lucky enough to bet a student of his at Berklee, enjoy every second. There are truly not enough good things to say about him.

great concept. this is the way, rather than going scales up and down. but it is much harder.

I really enjoyed John's video on melodic embellishment. I see these as tools to use when I am practicing the melodies of the different jazz standards I know, Now to the shed.
