With Every Hardship, There is Ease (Quran 94-5-6) | Inspiring Verses of the Quran

In his short commentary, Dr. Shabir Ally speaks about the Quran 94:5-6: “So, surely with hardship comes ease. Surely with hardship comes ease.” Dr. Safiyyah Ally asks why we find repetition in the two verses and what meaning they might have for our lives.

Scholars say that the grammatical wording of the two verses indicate that God is emphasizing—without any doubt (surely)—with difficulty, more ease will come. Therefore, we can understand the verses to promise the believers that despite what might appear to be a dire situation, it will not last forever, and relief will eventually come.

The context of the verses is God’s address to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when facing great hardship while conveying the Quranic message. Yet, the verses also apply directly to every believer when faced with life’s difficulties. We should understand that life’s trials are accompanied by continuous blessings, even if those blessings are not seen immediately.

In these oft troubling times, this eternal wisdom is most apposite.

I listen to The Beatles’ Let It Be song, to take one example, and I feel very blessed to be alive. Qu’ranic wisdom runs deep through so much so called “western culture”, some of The Beatles music and much of Shakespeare’s plays: their fitrah is palpable to me.

Thank you once more Dr and daughter Ally. You shine so much inner light on this great religion. Peace.

ONE CAN NOT CONTROL ONES SELF..
ONE CAN NOT CONTROL ONES ACTIONS..
ONE CAN NOT CONTROL ONES FEELINGS..
ONE CAN NOT CONTROL ONES DESIRES..
ONE CAN NOT CONTROL ONES LUST..
ONE IS LOST IN A WORLD OF MISS GUIDANCE WITHOUT THE GUIDANCE OF ALLAH (SAWT).
ALLAH (SAWT) GUIDES WHOM HE WILLS & WHOM HE PLEASES.

But we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Thank you Dr. Aly for quoting Dr. Iqbal who was definitely a great poet and philosopher of India/Pakistan but quotation he mentioned from his poetry تندی باد مخالف سے نہ گھبرا اے عقاب
is actually not from Iqbal but from Syed Sadiq Hussein; just for correction

I used to tafsir this ayat like how he tafsir... but then if it was for the prophet Muhammad SAW, indeed Allah has raised his name, fill his chest with blessing, but not with us, yet the Quran including this verse are meant for us as well..

Furthermore, why would Allah give us hardship, then only Ease, why not just give us Ease and then More Ease? Wouldnt it be better if it had always been ease and more ease??.BUT...

Have we ever felt joy or happy in the fact that we can just breathe easily, without any effort or even consciously control or do anything to breathe? Allah have given us unlimited supply of air and oxygen, our breast expand automatically contorol by our brain to take in air... such ease doesnt it, and yet never have ever we felt joy for it..

Its only if Allah take away that ease, make it hard for us to breathe (hardship), will only we learn the feeling of ease, as we gain back the ability to breathe normally..

In other words, the ability to feel ease/joy/relief can only come with hardship.. without hardship or test, we wouldnt understand the meaning of ease, we cant feel ease because it has always been ease for us... just like breathing...

Hence why Allah says, WITH HARDSHIP come EASE, WITH HARDSHIP IS EASE..Its both or nothing.

.and then Allah told us, WHEN YOU ARE FREE (when we feel at ease), STRIVE AGAIN (go back to HARDSHIP)...My Tafsir is that, Allah want us to train ourself repeatedly, getting more and more challenging everytime, so that we would understand it better everytime, and attain such high intensity of ease and joy, which we will experience and used it (the skill or ability to feel the joy) for eternity in the hereafter as we receive endless, countless amount of ease and joy..

The greater the difficulties, the greater the intensity of relief you will experience, once you overcome that test..

Wallahualam..

Muslim clothes are so much better than western clothes. I am jealous of Safiyyah's outfit.

This belief can be attributed to the lack of scientific understanding and the limited knowledge available about human anatomy and physiology.
In ancient civilizations such as ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, the heart was considered the seat of intelligence, emotions, and consciousness. The heart was believed to be responsible for thoughts, reasoning, and decision-making. This belief was influenced by observations that emotional experiences often coincided with changes in heart rate and palpitations.

*Which again proves that Islam is a false religion*.
