This is a great shot, but be careful executing such on a temporary net, as if the ball hits the horizontal bar on the way down, by rule it is a let and the point replayed. It happened to me once.

Can the paddle cross the net if the ball had stayed on his side?

You can reach over and hit it on an opponents extreme backspin. Of course. What is super-interesting in this case is that as he reaches over, he angles the paddle back at the net, essentially making the ball unplayable.

So what happens if Ben Johns had done nothing and the ball spins to the other court and dies? Does Ben's team lose the point since their paddle never touched the ball?

it's a rare point in tennis, I don't know if it applies in pickle ball. But is it legal to hit the ball across the net ?

I'm not very familiar with the rules, can someone explain why that wasn't illegal? I understand what the commentator said, but I thought it was illegal to step in the front box of the court

Commentator is STUPID Wrong on every topic. NOT ALLOWED to X net in tennis, BJ DID TOUCH BALL. BJ DID CROSS NET... Who is that guy?
