Zelda: The Lost Woods/Saria's Song (Piano Scherzo Variations)

Here another Zelda Classic from Ocarina of Time. This is the famous tune, played by your childhood friend, that taunts you as you explore the Lost Woods in Kokiri Forest.

VERSUS: Bonus Round
This is the latest in a series of videos where I go head to head against other musicians to see whose Cover reigns supreme. Be sure to check out my opponent's videos!

=======(The Details)=======

I didn't know what to classify this tune as, so I went with Scherzo, despite the fact that it's in 2/4 because of the tune's playfulness and rhythmic intensity. Another unusual thing is how quickly this came together. We each had about a week to arrange, practice and record. Typically we spend much more time working on VERSUS arrangements.

Your Pianist,

Erik C.

Another classic Zelda tune this week. Didn't want to get too overly virtuosic with this one and stick to the playfulness of the original except for the middle section. Also holy crap thanks for the 50k subs!! Never would have thought I'd hit that goal so quickly. Thanks for always tuning in! Also here are my opponent's versions for this special 3-way round of VERSUS:

Just want to let you know that you inspired my 12 year old who has taken less than two years of lessons to play this song at his recital tonight. I was wanting him to pick an easier song, but he persevered and did it. Thanks for being such an inspiration for him!

For some reason, the way this person plays it,
kinda reminds me of studio ghibli songs

1:06 to 1:48 is going to be what I hear in my head every time I replay Ocarina of Time and have to say goodbye to Saria after she awakens as the Forest Sage.

Definitely had the Piano Man flair to it. We went in completely different directions in our arrangement!

I like how it goes from essentially the normal version, to a ragtime version, to an extra bit with a sadder tone, to the normal version but it guzzled some nitrous oxide

Probably what Legend of Zelda on Broadway would sound like.

Interesting cover! Even though it sounds different you can always hear this unique melody.
