As a casual, campaign player, who studies Ancient History, this is a gift from the Gods. I have been waiting for this moment in AoE2-DE.

Love it. I am mostly a campaign player so this is 100% a pickup for me.

It would be interesting if the campaign did something like Starcraft 2's campaigns where you can pick upgrades between levels that permanently carry over for the rest of the campaign.

Looking at the tech trees and building models on SOTL and Ornlu's vids, i'm super hyped for this DLC. The new dock system looks really cool

My feeling is that they are trying to test the waters and if this one works fine, more DLCs like this will be added and they will also add a parallel ranked for antiquity civs.

AoM’s “Return of the Trident” campaign is considered the best Age series campaign, and one of the best RTS campaigns across the whole genre. This style of campaign that Chronicles brings, if done well, has the potential to bring that same level of quality as “Return of the Trident” had for AoM. I do hope we get a new “traditional” DLC soon but i’m quite hyped for this as well ngl.

Until now I didn’t realize that this is gonna be single player only, but I’m totally down for that!!! Sounds exciting!

AoE2 has always shined in campaigns. The fact you can usually build an Empire and take it easy each mission was always a fun of mine. Sure, I play mostly online nowadays, but I am definitely interested in this new campaign, that's for sure. I am glad this DLC is focused on campaign missions. I think too many games focus on online-only features nowadays, so that's refreshing to see.

Oysters seems like a good way to rebalance a lot of water maps. Would be interesting

It will be cool if they introduce Co-Op to the campaign as well. This looks amazing and is a head yes from me.

12€ for 30-40 hours of offline playtime (for me at least). Some new featurs/gameplay aspects, without touching MP balance? No republishing of free mods. Huge cosmetic changes with no micro-BS.

Is this even 2024? I'm all here for it.

According to spirit of the law there is a selfcontained UNranked multiplayer. Also it's not just the capture age guys but also the guys from the rome at war mod working on it. I'm so excited to see microsoft involving beloved mod makers! The average aoe2 player just doesn't check for mods and only plays vanilla content. I'm 100% excited for it. Especially that decisions in mission carryover to the next mission.

The devs finally went all in on bringing the Aoe2 mechanics into the ancient era. JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN BEGGING FOR!! 🤩 Once enough chronicles come out maybe this will be the start of a new ranked ladder!

Love AOE2, doing a degree in Ancient Greece - this is amazing. And props to the historical accuracy! Looks amazing.

Honestly I think its pretty cool that the game is expanding "sideways" by getting new timelines and more campaign content rather than solely focusing on the medieval period and on 1v1 balance. Ultimately the quality of the campaign is going to be the deciding factor on whether its gonna be a good DLC or not. I do hope they add co-op gameplay to the new campaigns, that would be awesome

As I mentioned in SoTL video, I'm just so hyped for this. Funny thing is that this game mode will have a lot of stuff T90 always preaches for in his videos, like the two docks, one more economic, other more for war and fire arrows being represented by fire arrows. I hope this can be carried on for the main AoE II game if it works right. On another note, my wallet is crying in R$, since I've just recently bought AoM Retold, but this game series is the one I'll always support when I can, I learned so much from it and had so much fun in my childhood and teenage years from it and still do.

Would so much like to see T90 play this new campaign as soon as the DLC is out!

I personally think that to keep the lights on in the aoe studio is for to go in this direction of in depth historically day by day campaign add ons. Would love a "war of the roses" one for us uk guys here haha
