Close Call: Lightning Strikes Nearby While Springfield Man Brings In Trash Barrel

Had a very close friend years ago that was struck by lightning while attempting to photograph a storm. Ya not probably the smartest idea, but that's how people get those amazing lightening strike pictures we have all seen before. He had his tripod setup inside the doorway to his home and had just made all the adjustments and was ready to snap a few quick pictures when BOOM...It struck the tripod and blew my friend Scott across his living room and into the kitchen. He immediately thought he was dead, had terrible ringing in ears and couldn't hear anything, plus he said he couldn't swallow as it totally dried his mouth and throat out. The ER didn't believe him until they saw the entry and exit burns the lightening left him with for life AND also the picture he got the moment the strike hit his tripod. He later framed it and hung it on his living room wall!

The only "close thing" was the reflection of the lightning that struck the tree on the other side of the street. I have witnessed random people being better at journalism than so called professional journalists xd (one of them also pointed that the guy must have pierced holes in his bins himself to sell the story to the lazy media)

I was sanding a Timberjack at the factory I worked for, lightning hit the dumpster a couple of feet away from me.We had the roll up door open because it was hot, the static burnt my hair, I was terrified lol.
