Hello Vikram,
I believe you are aware that Production version is a mandatory master data for discrete manufacturing like repetitive and PI industry.
Does it have any impact on Product costing. Like if we do not have product version whether BOM and routing will explode for costing or not.

Basically,
Raw Material Cost + Activity Cost = Product Cost
But it is easy to know RM Cost bcz SAP takes actual RM cost but someone has to derive Activity Cost for KP-26 and SAP technical person is not right guy for it even a Chartered Accountants are also not qualified for that. So, it become crucial who is calculating Activity Cost and his accuracy will be decide the product cost.
