Excellent for a beginner I’m very impressed. Gathering the waist is tricky a little bit. One thing I would suggest doing is when your pinning on the skirt to the top after gathering it all and then pin the ends to the ends of the top then find the center of the top and bottom and pin that. From their start to try to even out the gathers in Penn those to the rest of the top. I hope that makes some sense

I think you're progressing really well! I would recommend pressing your gathers flat before you join the skirt to the bodice. First adjust the gathered section to the right length for your bodice, be sure to tie off your threads at both ends so they don't wander, distribute the gathers so they look even, and then press them with the iron - they won't shift around as much once pressed, and they'll pass through the sewing machine much easier too. Hope that helps! ^_^

Put as many pins in as you need to keep all the pleats in place, iron so the fabric is creased where the pleats are then sew together- works for me. It will get easier with practice. Love your fabric choices- especially the pink gingham dress and the little Harry Potter dress - cute 🥰

They look good to me!! Your doing really well - do you gather your fabric with thread before you attach it to the top? I do that and then spread it ont evenly before pinning into place and sewing - you could even tack it into place before sewing 🥰🥰

Practice makes perfect! The third one is really looking good, I can definitely see how you improve.

Try doing a small basting stitch before you attach the top and bottom. But if you ask me they look great!

Can def see the improvement in the third one. With the pink one just can’t tell because of the bow which works so well on the dress. Great work in improving. 10th 👍 from me 😊😄

WOW! Thanks for sharing your difficulties. Some clothing drapes better when cut on the bias but I'm not sure if that would matter in this scale. There is a trick to pleating where you actually sew down the pleats in a basting stitch until you've assembled the outfit then you can remove the thread. But you last dress did come out ver nice! It drapes very well.
