Dennis:"let's go with the Peugeot"
Brilliant.

Senna had said this was decision that sealed the deal for his Williams move

Choosing a Peugeot engine over a Lamborghini is wild

Lamborguini went to supply another team, it was pretty underwhelming and GMC ended the program

Supposedly, one of the reasons Ayrton Senna left McLaren was because McLaren didn't sign the engine deal with Lamborghini. Senna truly thought the Lamborghini engine would be better than the Renault engine that was dominating at the time. Senna thought it just needed a little more development.

I saw the Lambo the season before, and the engine note was heavenly.

Why would anyone choose Peugeot over Lamborghini? That's like picking a donkey over a stallion. No wonder Ayrton left!

You say in working condition but that doesn't mean much. It would need restored and serviced before it could get back on the course.

His ego and political mindset are the reasons why Dennis was not as great of a manager as he could’ve been

In 1991, Modena's and Ligier's cars were powered by Lamborghini engines. That season was a total bust, since neither team scored a single point. In 1992, the chosen teams were Minardi – home of Brazilian driver Christian Fittipaldi – and Larousse. In 1993, only Larousse still had a Lambo engine. Lamborghini engines were rubbish and suffered from reliability issues.

It hurts my soul that they changed the livery on old cars to meet current regulations.

With a Lambo engine Senna would have never left to Williams.... and you know the rest

In a way, Ron Dennis sowed the seeds for what could have been an earth-shattering WHAT IF with wide-ranging implications, chief among these was Senna's death in 1994...

probably the reason why senna said the car was incredible was because of the 1993 ruleset which still allowed driver aids.

the Williams FW15C has active suspension traction control ABS and other things to name a few.

and basically everyone copied it... including McLaren.
and well, lets juts say a car like that would be one of the fastest, safest and most incredibly machine if McLaren could pull it off correctly like Williams did.

Peugeot is responsible for Senna's death. It all comes together.

I mean... It's a big reach, but "WHAT IF" Senna stayed with McLaren and the Lamborghini deal happened?

Reminder that other teams used Lambo engines and felt disappointed with their results/reliability, but I guarantee that if it happened, Ferruci Lambo would NEED to do the best to have Senna driving that McLaren-Lambo without fucking up their chance of humiliating Ferrari with Senna, just imagine how crazy it would've been back in the day? "Senna wins the F1 Championship for the foruth time with a little change of Engine! Ciao Ferrari!" 😅
