Allen Cell Explorer: A portal to the human cell

The Allen Cell Explorer is a one-of-a-kind portal and dynamic digital window into the human cell. The website combines large-scale 3D imaging data, the first application of deep learning to create predictive models of cell organization, gene edited human stem cell lines and a growing suite of powerful tools.

A few minutes ago I was browsing Google Maps satellite view looking at random places in remote countries. Then suddenly I thought, "It would be great if I could zoom in and out of cells to see all their internal features!" Within 5 minutes I discovered a 2014 news article about the Allen Cell Observatory project beginning. 5 minutes later I discovered the actual observatory in existance....The internet is awesome! Although I hope to see more detail at smaller scales in the future even if the biological mechanisms are computer generated. I can spend DAYS looking at satellite view maps without getting board. It would be great to spend that time exploring the cellular or molecular world.
