Its crazy how we feel sympathy for people who don't exist. That's great story telling. I feel connected to them. Straight to my soul

I love how essentially this song was the anchor for the entirety of the end of the Aether storyline. The fact that it sings about never letting go and surviving forever is some heavy stuff. Also with words like "stumble" or "wander", you really get the feeling that our four are always asking "Where are we going?" even though we always have a rough idea of where they travel within the cycle. Breaking the cycle, choosing not to "resuscitate life", our characters go into our final act. Nikolai knows what must be done. He must burn it all down. "Ashes cleanse the ordinary woes". This is shown on screen when Nikolai is shot by Samantha. The camp fire that our characters were surrounding in that forest was a symbol of the desire to survive. While the ashes blow and fade away in what possibly could be interpreted as that entire dimension fading away like so many others, Samantha and Eddie walk towards a brighter place.

Primis Nikolai: I would like to return to my home. My beloved. Before the bombs fell. If only to die by her side.

Primis Takeo: I see myself at peace. Serene. Sitting beneath a cherry blossom tree. Listening to the joy of my children at play.

Primis Richtofen: I think I’d like to teach...medicine... maybe pathology.

Primis Dempsey: More I think about it, the more I think I’d be a darn dog DI. Heh. Get those kids toughened up...

Ultimis Nikolai: I would like to be in favorite bar. But as long as I has vodka... I am happy man.

Ultimis Takeo: I would like to know for sure that I brought honor to my ancestors... and the Emperor.

Ultimis Richtofen: I should probably try to relax. Take up a hobby. Maybe I could open up my own morgue...

Ultimis Dempsey: Hmmm... Lemme think about it. But wherever I go, you know I’ll be kickin’ ass...

“They all look at you the same way don’t they Al. They see a weasel and a rat. You’re a survivor Al. No shame in that. Even a rat survives”

Every time I hear I get so emotional... so weird how we get attached to fictional characters... knowing what they have to go through, what they HAVE been through... what happens... makes this all the bit better. It reminds me of when I played MOTD the first few times, I thought nothing of the game, just a zombie killing game... I was wrong... I was so wrong. It's a story, and an adventure. It has a purpose, not just a pointless game lost in the dark.

I nearly cried. 9 years worth of memories branded into my mind for as long as they’ll stay there. Aether story deserves an Oscar (most of it anyway). No movie or book could ever out do it, the way a video game has done. As sad as I am to see it end (that could of been done so much better treyarch) nothing good last for ever. I really hope one day when companies aren’t blinded by $$$ that they will see the impact that a game can make on a community. I think I’ll leave with aether...

I just can't help it. Massively underrated song.. One of my favourites.

The lyrics when the children are singing, they are so strong it represents what most of us would go through in this whole song in general
