Slight correction: I have actually driven a few Alfa’s that I’d completely forgotten about, but only new ones. So this is the first ‘proper’ Alfa I’ve driven! Enjoy!

This is a refreshing alternative to your usual postings. I enjoy the addition of a classic comparison. Good choice.

If you feel it’s slow, you not rev it enough. 😉

I have a 1969 Gt 1300 Junior (stepnose) with a upgraded 1750 series 2 engine. Those engine loves to rev.
Take it into a bend, 3 gear on mine, 3-4000 rev, and floor it. Then you can feel the power. And the noise from the inlet-trumpets and exhaust.
That would give you a bigger smile than you already have. 😁

And its so small, so the speed feels alot higher than it is.

I love mine. Its a keeper.

Just like the 1750 GTV I owned back in the 80s - same year, G reg. I loved it, and would happily have the Mk1 again. A special experience owning and driving that Alfa.

Best review you have done Joel from a total alfisti 124 years of racing history from a marque who produces beautiful cars.

A beautiful car and a welcome change of direction on the channel.

Great content Joel probably one of your best videos. Back in the late 70’s a friend of mine had a 2.0 litre version which was an awesome car.

Had a 1974 gtv 2000 years ago, rust killed it and at that stage didn’t have the money to keep / restore it. Sold it and have always regretted it!
Broke me when I had it but when it ran on song it made me smile so much.
Absolutely correct on the coolness factor Joel!
Hard to find now!

I proposed in one of these! The marriage didn't last long but I'll never forget that car. When I told my dad it turned out he'd owned one and there was a photo of me stood next to it. So yeah, I love GTV's :D

Thank you for this. I used to have a GTC - the convertible version of this.

The second gear synchros will wear if the driver keeps his hand on the shift lever while driving. My GTV never had the issue in 30 years of ownership. My 75/Milano wasn’t as good but that was due to the long shift linkage wearing over time. On two lane roads a well maintained 1750 will cruise at 90 mph all day long. The ATE dual booster brakes were as good or better than anything on the road in period. I felt the controls were light and pleasant. Loved driving the thing. Mine was a US Spica car in ochre.

Ah yes, classic motoring, not for me, too tedious, however that Alfa Romeo is damn pretty ! Thanks for the test review, nice video.

The gearbox is toast! Should be opened and reconditioned.

The dashboard appears to have been undersealed! The interiors were very well put together so that one needs fettling. But a 1750 GTV should go very it is correctly set up and has all of the 120 bhp.

Next, try a GTV6 (the proper one, not the 90's thing) and then an Alfasud Ti.

I somehow missed this video!! Love seeing older cars, you don't get that on YouTube all the time! I'm also mindblown that you've somehow found an E-Type to review, will definitely be keeping an eye out for that!

Great video. Please have more 1970-80s Alfa Romeo and BMWs on your channel.

More of this! How it feels like to drive those old cars, maybe the options, how they were advertized back in the day..
