Making a Super Smash Bros in Dreams

During the mid-2020s I attempted making a Super Smash Bros type game in Dreams for the PS4. In this video I cover everything I was able to achieve during my 5 months of working on this project, along with what ultimately led me to quitting this fascinating game.

Will I ever return? Only time will tell...

Will the ps5 solve the problem with animations and attacks eating too much memory or is that more of a limitation of the game?

Not only is this incredibly well edited, this is a fantastic thing you’ve made. I’ve long since moved on from trying to create games in LBP2 way back when, but the level of detail and dedication to a vision is astounding. It’s also phenomenal how mechanically sound and well structured all of logic was; I haven’t seen anything before and yet the small snippets from this video told me an incredible amount about how this was put together. That’s the mark of someone who knows not only how to program but do it in a clear and concise way for others to see.

why is the logic so complicated? i wanna make a smash bros like game myself but i am a newbie to logic buuut i do know how to do the basic stuff with logic how to wire it but i must know how to simplify this so its not a mess of microchips and wires i mean i will call it that there is no way to simplify it or make this easier and that i have to put multiple hours of sculpting and wiring into it without collaborator's help unless i absolutely need it i wanted to make playstation all stars battle royale with my own characters and it being better than the original with the hit your opponent off the map mechanic instead of the level 1 2 and 3 supers in the actual ps all stars game

yeh multiplayer games do not get a whole lot of attention atm as you can only play them locally, hopefully this will be fixed when the multiplayer update comes out.
