An extra note about season 2, if you dont care about rewards. It actually does let you join someone else for the story on this one without you having it unlocked. At this point Anet should just let everyone have it free tbh

Season 4 also kicks ass but it kind of finalizes the story up until that point with a beautiful ending so having some context before you jump in is something that I would recommend.

i was so confused when i went from killing zhaitan to being told that i killed mordremoth without ever actually fighting him but also being told that killing elder dragons is bad but then also being told that we want to make jormag kill primordus all in the span of under a week

I have to say this, I lol'd so much when you were showing the 5 mounts from Path of Fire, with raptor through to Jackal all being cool/serious skins... then the plushie griffon. perfection! xD

For anyone upset or confused as to why Scarlett's War is no longer available - this was content that regularly changed as it was released, required lots of coordination, and dramatically changed the landscape of Tyria. Lion's Arch was completely remade (you still see the old LA going through your personal story). It was fun, but it does make sense to close that part out now.

It would be pretty cool if they could do a "time warp" month and reopen that content for everyone for a limited time again. Fighting the marionette again would be nostalgic af. Or perhaps they could do some new fractals so you could run some of those old missions again.

Not gonna lie. I absolutely despise how the living world is monetised. I lost way too many potential new players I wanted to show the game to, right after they asked me how much there is to buy to get the FULL game. This looks shady af when you are new player getting expansions sold with vague statements about "playing the latest Icebrood Saga chapters when they go live", and then realise you are still missing like half of the story, both from past seasons and current one. How the hell they expect new people get up to speed with the current storylines when they split enormous part of the story(and gameplay) content into tiny DLC packages you don't even know exist when buying expansions on the official webpage store.

considering the hours you get from this game.. living world is a no brainer. Especially for those who have been used to paying sub fees.
Not to mention HOT coming free with POF has saved you money you could spend on the living world

A lot of people don't pay attention to season 2 just because it doesn't give a lot of rewards, but the story is so good! I really enjoyed playing it. Also, I think you can do some season 1 bits with Ice Brood Saga, right?

Several Fractals and a dungeon path reprise parts of Season 1. More recently, some additional portions are replayable via "Visions of the Past" in Icebrood Saga.

I'm glad that later seasons offer a bit more reward for the time.. I just started back from a 5 year hiatus and I want to go through all of the story content, but the season 2 rewards have thus far felt pretty lacking.
