next time you do a floor like this or any kind of painting, add caulk in addition to the painters tape.. makes for a super clean line and prevents bleed.

I have a two car garage and one of these 2.5 garage floor kits was more than enough to cover my floor and I'm very happy with the outcome. Infact I through a little away that I had leftover. Remember with painting your wanting to change the color. Its not like putting icing on a cake, the thicker the better so just change the color and you'll have plenty to complete a two car garage like I was able to..

If you don't want it to bleed through the tape, caulk the edge of the tape. Just do a really thin beat of caulking. It'll seal the tape and the material won't bleed under. I'm a professional house painter and that's what I do when I paint walls and I have to cover the baseboards.

My step dad, mom and brother (along with myself) did something something like this years ago (like back in '99 or '00). But we didnt have none of those items. Life before YouTube. Where we just use some type of heavy duty paint on the carport. So we clean and washed the carport out (open carport at that). Next day we painted it. The carport looked good for about three months. It was hard work an a little fun.

I've done this kit (different colors) in two of my garages. Prep is absolutely essential! Even after a muriatic acid wash there were spots that didn't get completely clean and the epoxy did not adhere. (Older garage that had been beaten up quite a bit.) Regardless, it still looked pretty damn nice!

I'm commenting mostly for the "almighty algorithm". I'm going to have my garage epoxied, but first, I'm going to have my basement epoxied to prevent any last bit of radon from coming into my house (on top of the radon mitigation system I have installed). This will also protect the floor until I have time to install a flooring system over it. My garage is going to take a lot more prep as I have to grind down the side wall schlup (is that even a word?) that spilled out from the concrete forms. The garage is going to happen, but it'll happen second.

I covered about 650sf with 3 bags of mix, which is right in the sweet spot of what the instruction sheet said coverage should be. It wasn't enough. I put it down extra heavy right in front of the doorway where I backed out as I finished because I had a little product left and that part looked great. Several other spots where I was putting it on per the instructions, came out a little light. I don't know that it requires double product as some suggest but 1/3-1/2 more product certainly seems warranted.

I forgot to comment of the other video of your thoughts on a garage and I would personally look into adding onto your home garage. That way all your tools are close by and you have have to bounce between two places to get tools. BUT!! Having a separate garage that's dedicated to wrenching on badass cars/ trucks that's tucked away in the back, then I would definitely put up a 24x30 shop!!

Next time try using yellow painters tape it's designed to seal better to stop bleeding. Looks great BTW 👍
