Put your hands on the wheel
Let the golden age begin
Let the window down
Feel the moonlight on your skin
Let the desert wind
Cool your aching head
Let the weight of the world
Drift away instead

These days I barely get by
I don't even try

It's a treacherous road
With a desolated view
There's distant lights
But here they're far and few
And the sun don't shine
Even when it's day
You gotta drive all night
Just to feel like you're ok

These days I barely get by
I don't even try
I don't even try

Went through a bad mid life depression from working in the corporate cubicle world for too long. Got a class A license and busted out. Started driving the Big Trucks long haul. This track was heavy in my library rotation. Imagine listening to this song going through the middle of nowhere at two in the morning. Now that's therapy! BTW I made it through!

This album helped me through a rough time. The most beautiful thing I ever heard. It was in my head all the time I trooped through misery. It helped me survive

Hearing this song made me question my life I feel great inside but the sudden sadness from these wonderful lyrics and sounds make me question my inner feelings I tend to push off. I believe pushing those feelings away causes some kind of loneliness

Moonlit motorcycle rides in my youth with Sea Change in my ears. Over long stretches of blue highway, I was the only one on the road for 200 miles. An experience I could never truly share.

following Becks tour for his "Midnite Vultures" album, Beck and his fiancee, Leigh Limon ended their 9 year relationship. Just three weeks before his 30th birthday, Beck discovered Leigh has been having an affair with L.A. Band member from "Whiskey Biscuit" . Beck lapsed into a period of meloncholy and introspection, during which he wrote the bleak, acoustic_based tracks on Sea Change. It is like a Diary of a Broken man, one long letter on his feelings for what happened to him. Most can relate to Sea Change as I did as a Theraputic medicine to relieve me from my meloncholy break up of my relationship of 23 years. Beck Hanson is one musical genious right up there with Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Loretta Lynn, Glenn Campbell. During this period was the events of 2001 911 attacks which followed with the release of Sea Change. Lance Fraijo.

Never thought I’d look back to when this album came out and think; Wish I could go back to when the World was sane!

Beck's true coming of age. This album is his most spiritual and lovely. He gives us a glimpse behind the whimsical juggler who plays with words and sounds to unveil the brooding artist behind the poetic jester. Much like the Hemingway short story of the same name, this song captures the lonely frustration of someone who tried to find something and then found something else. This is Beck's Blood on the Tracks. Brilliant work from one of the last true rock geniuses.

I still wonder listening to this brilliant album. It has a unique Nick Drake's vibe melted with some good old Neil.

Listened this this album and Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief album on deployment. At the time it brought me back home and reminded of all the things I was missing. Now I listen to it and it brings me back to the war and the places and faces of friends I’ll never see again. To say life is strange would be an understatement. Semper Fi and YAT-YAS.

Had to listen to this. Even though I lost two family members last year, I finally let myself start mourning for them. This is helping me immensely through the grieving. I remember this coming out and I think I had just gotten through a really rough patch in my life back then. If only I'd known what was around the corner. Anyways, such a beautiful song from a masterpiece of an album.
