The realest ones for my family out of these are 1. eating lentils (it's a MUST) and 2. the colpo d'aria. Growing up dad would literally ask the restaurant hostess to reseat us at another table if there was a draft where we were originally seated. I always thought it was silly until one time I sat under a draft for a few hours and got crazy sick a week before I had to sing in an opera...never again!! The red on NYE was a thing, too, but we weren't strict about it; I remember when visiting Italy for NYE there would be stalls selling red underwear all over the streets of Rome at that time. Gotta love it.

Prolonged airflow can cause "stiff" muscles under exposed skin. This can be caused by a fan that is not oscillating or a persistent cold draft, including from air-conditioning.

The sweeping of the feet is also true for Spain and Mexico. The being hit by air, too. Except, I don't know if people take the "hitting" part literally. Technically, being hit by the air is that since our bodies are warm, and we get "hit" "touched" "blown" by air, our muscles will have a reaction from the cold and make it stiff. As well as being warm and suddenly getting a rush of wind can make us fall sick.
New years colors too.. except red would be for love/romance, and yellow for abundance and prosperity Lentils in the pockets so we always have "money in our pockets"

Interesting to see a few similarities in Italian as well.

Ciao Caroline, non hai parlato della superstizione delle ambulanze e dei carri funebri. Quando un Italiano sente passare le sirene di un'ambulanza o vede passare un carro funebre, deve toccare ferro o fare le corna con la mano o toccarsi le palle (per gli uomini l'ultimo), altrimenti nel caso dell'ambulanza vuol dire che qualcuno della tua famiglia si sentirà male, e finirà all'ospedale, mentre nel caso del carro funebre che morirà. Non so se sia lo stesso in tutta Italia ma dalle mie parti è sicuramente così! Ora puoi immaginare in questo periodo cosa significa questa superstizione, soprattutto per gli uomini...😅😂
