If I only have 3 or 4 years left to live and my future spouse is not still alive at that time, I would definitely be willing to spend my last million. I'm assuming that a million will be about 5 years worth of inflation-adjusted living expenses. I won't be a millionaire for 2 to 3 decades still but it's a part of my plan. Also in my plan is to retire in 3-4 decades with $2-$5 million.
