Mastering Assistant Missing Features? How to Fix (Apple Silicon)

Chris, it’s videos like this why I’m a subscriber. I’ve wondered for years about the Copy, Paste, Undo, Redo & Compare buttons that appear at the top of every plug-in. Now I know. I have also gone crazy trying to use Melodyne! You solved it - THANK YOU!!

Im a motu user mainly but I am getting my Logic Pro in use again after a layoff and the new AI stuff is really cool, maybe not without its limitations but knowing Apple this is going to be a game changer. OK, now the big question. Chris, clearly you have the knowledge and ability to create some tight mixes on your own. In all honesty does the Mastering Assistant create a mix that you like better?

How do we know we will like what the A.I. thinks is a good mix? Lastly can you use the plugin as a teaching tool? Analyze and then tweak your mix to try and get a theoretical flat correction curve?

incredible video as usual. i dont think logic gets enough love for its sandboxing. so many features fly off peoples radar. you only hear about bitwig when it comes to sandboxing.

Hi Chris, thanks for the videos and the great channel, I wonder if Logic Pro have a similar functionality for the midi cc view/panel next to the piano roll window under the arrange window as in Cubase to control and view midi cc as the existing step editor window is not convenient. and if you have any previous video explaining this feature? thanks

I can't even find that plugin on Logic Pro X I'm on the software but when I Try to find it its not showing up in my stereo out

Thank you for making this video. I was dealing with the exact issue with Melodyn and thought I was going out of my mind. I ended up finding the same solution as you illustrated but considered it as some mistake I made. I'm glad/sad I now know that Apple is at fault.

Thanks, Chris. I have compared the new mastering assistant to Ozone 9, and they seem to do a similar job. Have you compared them? I mainly like to use these to get my volumes ready for youtube publishing.

As a workaround for what seems like sacrificing ARA plugins for the Mastering Assistant (and vice versa), you could always bounce the ARA tracks so that tour changes are locked in - then move on to the mastering phase.

I recently upgraded the operating system for this particular feature. However, my major oversight was not favoring the "Mastering" feature, so I've decided to stick with my previous mastering chain.

Could I ask you if the mastering feature will master tracks already bounced down.. I would like it to look at albums I have already mastered
Sone tracks I no longer have
original tracks k mixes as lost when a drive crashed

Any idea how or if Logic will fix being unable to use RX2 files only in Rosetta mode? Really annoying that it won't work using the in native mode.

Hmm. I've had the M1 Mac since day one (soon to be upgraded). About this time, I began getting random alerts of plug-ins failing and LP needing to 'quit' or 'recover'. What's interesting is although I have used 3rd-p plugs in the past, I don't use them at all, and haven't since about 10.7.5. 'Auhosting' does not appear in Activity Monitor at all with LP open. I don't believe I've ever run LP in Rosetta since the M1. It's not checked in 'get info'.

And God, is that annoying, especially when the window for fixing it opens BENEATH another window in LP, meaning I have to force quit it to get back to normal. Happens way too often.

Any ideas? Could it be some remnant from an old template? (all my templates are revisions of older templates)

Do I need to clean out my plug-ins list inside LP? (not sure how to do that)
