Budapest is expensive af. And I am saying this as a Hungarian. Berlin is much more affordable (even by Hungarian standards).

Budapest and Krakow are not as cheap, even Vilnius; maybe Sòfia and Bucharest if you book hostel, eating a sandwich and walking all day around.

I recently went to Budapest. Loved it. I paid much more than the 43 euros, but I did not pay a ton of money

As someone who has been to all of these cities, he is wrong.. Skopje in Macedonia, Sarajevo in Bosnia and Belgrade in Serbia are a way way affordable than what he mentioned with approximately 25-28 euros per day

I know, for many visitors from the Western part of the world Eastern Europe is cheap. (or seems sceap) But; If you say Budapest's average daily expenses is 43 EUR you do nothing but walking around the streets there. An entrance ticket to a thermal bath is circa 30 EUR, a simple streetfood is 10 EUR, a beer 5 EUR. Public transportation day pass 6 EUR, an average taxi ride (if you don't get riped off) 20-25 EUR a museum ticket is 12-15 EUR And what about accomodation? So recalculate, how much a day should cost. I am sure there are some people who can say it's cheap.
