I'm new to synth, obviously I uses the VST, dont have money for the real one (I hope someday get one). Ranking all the ones I used, would be like this.

1- Minimoog
2- Prophet 5
3- Juno 60
4- Jupiter 8
5- Yamaha DX7
6- Jupiter 4
7- Synclavier
8- Arp 2600

Now, I'm still learning, so basically is in order of how easy to me is to program.
Some of them like Prophet 5, the VST came with preset, but I really love the ones that you can chose from the instrument it self.

Slowly as more as I learn, I will try all the others that the video and all of you are talked about.

Roland sh-101, Roland Juno series, Korg ms-20. Prophet, Minimoog, yamaha cs80, yamah dx7, Arp 2600 in any order would be my list

It’s neat that you put the OB-8 in this countdown instead of the OBXa. Subjectively, I’ve always wanted the 8 more than the Xa. Most people I’ve corresponded with have felt the reverse.

The fairlight and arp2600 were on some huge records but they weren’t as widely used as the Juno 106. only top guys like Herbie Hancock and Stevie wonder could afford those. I’ve heard stories of guy renting a fairlight for the day back then because they were so expensive. I guess a lot of us disagree about the list because “top” doesn’t clarify whether it was the best selling, best sounding, most used on a record or other factors.

I agree with this list, except you could put the 106 in place of the D50, which really was just Roland's answer to the DX7.

Honourable mention, Roland JD800, the last great hands on linear synth. Although do prefer the charm of the d50 more

Minimoog is a no-brainer (I remember when I used to sell them for £199 because nobody wanted them just after midi was introduced).

Спасибо доктор микс! У меня были и Роланд Д50 и Корг М1. Но, вот на Юпитер-8 у меня нехватает денег. Отличные машины! Всем мира и добра!🤝

CS-80 will always be my favourite synthesizer (even if I’ll likely never see one in person 😭) but Minimoog is a fair number one too 🥰

I want to remember that song you hinted at with the fairlight bat all I remember is that it’s an 80’s song I loved when I was a kid! .

I concur to the list, but would like to somehow shove in Memorymoog, Matrix-12, OB-Xa, PPG Wave for their iconic sounds.
