How to Open VW Atlas Smart liftgate 'easy open' with foot and adjusting height for shorter folks

I didn't know how to activate the lift with my foot and finally got it. I thought it was a scam at first. lol

Then I wanted to figure out how to adjust the height so it doesn't open all the way for my vertically challenged wife.

I wanna know how you pressed the button at 0:52 and made your wife disappear. VERY useful feature! Do share!

After you activate the lift with foot, you need to step back and wait for the door open ! Also same thing if want to use your foot to close the lift, you need to step back. If you don't step back, the door might hit you. VW have consider this when they design the feature.

I hate mine. (Not the Atlas, but this feature and some others.) I have a 2023 Atlas and my car before this was a Ford Edge. They perfected the hands free hatch, so coming from one that opens and closes with your foot without having to be in an exact position is like downgrading on this feature for me. Why wouldn’t VW want you to also be able to use the function for unloading the vehicle, too? It makes no sense to me. I also found out mine won’t close with the remote unless I’m right beside it. So frustrated with some of these little design flaws! Other than that and hating some of the “safety” things on it, it’s a great vehicle. Just wish I could get it completely reprogrammed to do what I want on these issues. I don’t miss my Edge, but I miss all it features that just made WAY more sense.
