I’ve been waiting for this one, great video. Hoping Tuscany is waiting under a tree for me this Christmas 😁

My favorite things about Viticulture are #1) even if you get blocked you still have a plethora of options to take that can get you closer to achieving your overall strategy and #2) even if your strategy gets foiled, the visitor cards throw in some random potential to get a cool combo or powerful bonus, so it keeps you playing with some hope until the end.

There have been a few games where I was in the last season after someone else has surpassed 20 points, but then I got a visitor card that helped me fulfill a wine order or get a couple extra points and push me in the lead! Those are fun, memorable moments.

I love the wake-up mechanism in Fresco and Viticulture. That's why I keep them both in my collection.

This video is a perfect example of why the board game community is so great! A great board game designer shining a spotlight on games made by other designers. I look forward to playing the handful of games in this list that I haven't tried yet. Thanks, Jamey!

I love stoneage it is advanced enough that strategy is neccesary to win, but also simple enough for just about every one to get into.

The Age of Artisans expansion for Architects of the West Kingdom includes a Grande type of worker that they call an Artisan that's slightly bigger than the others. Instead of placing it on blocked spaces like in Viticulture, it counts as two workers when you put it down. It also helps to prevent one virtue loss when played.

I absolutely love viticulture with the Tuscany expansion. It is such an amazing game and the theme and concepts to resource management and worker placement are simple but genius. Well done sir!

Interesting... Viticulture has been one of our go-tos in the pandemic, played by two couples over Zoom with two physical copies (we even managed three couples and three copies once!).

Interesting that we have 7/10 of those games. And that Fresco was _also_ one of our successes. And we also played Agricola and Russian Railroads and

Great list! 😊👍 I’ve played Fresco (I love how your workers get unhappy when they have to get up really early 😅), Stone Age, Agricola, Russian Railroads and Lords of Waterdeep and I enjoy them very much. I bought Viticulture digitally some months ago, but I bought Scythe at the same time and every time I find time for digital play I still want to play Scythe 😁 Soon enough I will try Viticulture, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it 😊👍❤️

One of the best features of Viticulture is how the theme makes it easy to understand the mechanisms. There are other games with 'order of operations' where you sometimes feel like you are going in circles, because it's not thematically clear why these resources get turned into these other resources which get turned into points. (Russian Railroads doesn't have that problem, though I think that's less about the theme in RR and more about the design of the components and the layout of the player boards.) Viticulture isn't a simulation (grapes don't 'age' on vines over the course of years), but the theme is so strong and so relatable that all of the sequence of steps makes sense. One of the best games out there for

Everdell, Tapestry, Stone Age, and Viticulture are literally my 4 favorite games I own. With that in mind I'll definitely have to try the rest of this list. Will be getting Agricola for Christmas, so that'll be first. Thanks for the great recommendation video!

This is a great list for me to work off of! My wife and I played a BUNCH of Viticulture throughout 2021 and love it but could use a different game that scratch’s the same itch. Thanks!!!

Genotype is also similar to Viticulture, but simpler, and with an additional dice drafting mechanism that is very thematic.

Great stuff. Shared to my MeWe group. Been a fan of Viticulture for some time but haven't gotten to play it nearly enough. Looking forward to what the next expansion will bring!

I've always wanted to try Fresco but never did. Dune Imperium also piques my interest too as I liked the newest movie.

Great video. May have to pick up a few of the games on your list. Just started playing Viticulture/Tuscany this year; I had "won" it in the 2020 Stonemaier Charity Auction and finally got it to the table this year (mostly solo - and it's very hard to win). One of my favorite worker placement games not on your list is Snowdonia. Great variety with all the expansion pieces, lots of fun and a great table presence. Also has a good solo bot. Thanks for the great work. Have a safe and restful Holiday.

I would like to add Genotype to this list. You're growing pea plants and harvest them. Not to make pea soup, but to research their genes.

I had a game from MEBO Games (used to be Mesa Board Games), from 2010 or 2011 called Vintage that had a Grande Worker too. It was about Port Wine, aging it and all...
