Modern full-stack web development with TypeScript

Eric Masi is a senior software engineer at VitusVet: a veterinary practice software company. Currently most of his work is focused on writing backend software in TypeScript, but he came up through the ranks as a frontend developer and still enjoys writing code there when needed. As a self-taught developer without a computer science degree Eric understands the importance of mentorship and is always eager to teach. When he's not working he likes to attend local meetups, travel, and read sci fi and fantasy novels.

In this talk Eric discusses the technologies and, more importantly, the mindset that goes into developing a modern full-stack web application using TypeScript. Along the way he will explore the topics of full-stack type safety, software design, software architecture, infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous delivery, testing, and much more. By the end of the talk listeners will have a good idea of how these pieces fit together and where they can go to continue learning.
