I'm all for a remake; if (heaven forbid) it sucks, it doesn't change the original IX at all - we'll always have it.

Remade games never recreate the same atmosphere in my opinion, if recreated i would worry about them messing around with the style and the story too much.

The ff7 spin-offs all the way up to ff7 remake really affected how i viewed the original game because i had a different vision in my head on how that world would have felt and looked if remade, ff7 remake made me realise that my imagination was creating a personalised experience filling in some of the blanks due to the limitations of the software.

I do enjoy how they retained the cartoony stylised look of the original, a worry of mine if Square Enix remake it is they'll go hyper realistic and we'll lose the stylised look..
