we study the continuation of the charges distribution of some object and study different types of charge density

1 Linear charge density the distribution of charge is in the one line is called linear charge density
charge distributed along line then the unit of linear charge density is coulomb per metre

2 surface charge density/ area charge density. the charge distribution along area or surface is called surface charge density
the unit of surface charge density is coulomb per (metre)^2.
3 volume charge density. the charge distribution along the volume is called volume charge density
unit of this is coulomb per (metre)^3
